Church Remodel

Brian Larsen slept over. We were supposed to be sleeping in the back yard, but we jumped the fence and bedded down on the side lawn at the church. Before it was remodeled, the grass had a nice slope to it. We gazed at the stars. We got bored. We walked to 7-11 for Slurpees. Brian would always pay. He had money given to him from the government because he was legally blind. (Jeremey got similar money monthly.)

Kristin and Jared slept over. The church was now under construction. We were sleeping out back on the trampoline. There was scaffold up around the free standing steeple. It was high. We climbed it. We sat for hours talking and looking at the stars. We all had to urinate. We chose the side away from the church so as not to defile it.

Some time after the remodel there was a tornado. It took our kiddie pool to the field between 7-11 and LP. Connor Shannon and I went to investigate damages at the church. We found a 2x4 from our back yard stuck into the stucco of the building like a javelin. It was probably 12' high, out of our reach. Keith Stutznegger came and took it as a souvenir.

I loved living right next door to the church.
